The man at the gate says to Kino, as she and hermes leave the country.
He asks her what these words could mean, and she replies that there is no such thing as a true blue sky. It changes colour depending on the time and location, and each is perfect.
So there cannot be a true blue sky. Each is perfect as it is.
-Kino's Journey
I would love to say something witty or philosophical to go with that, but it really speaks for itself. The world is beautiful just the way it is. It's always perfect, no matter what happens.
I believe that things only happen one way. Governed by the laws of physics, and the interactions between impossibly small things. They move. They interact. Their interactions cause their paths to change, all the changes happen one way. They cannot be another way.
Is that perfection? if it is, then everything is perfect. Everything happens the way it's supposed to happen.
Chemical, physical and quantum interactions. causing everything to be the way it is. their paths are always the right ones. they have no choice. they have no opinion.
So we and the world around us are the result of these interactions. all the collisions, and all the paths altered. our experiences alter our paths, smooshing together to mould who we are.
As the product of the whole, are we too perfect? pefect as the world? the universe?
and perfect as the blue sky?
